DATA PROTECTION POLICY

The customer is informed that his/her personal data can be collected on the Site and used by the Seller according to the following provisions, in conformity with the French Data Protection Act 78-17 of 6 January 1978 amended by the law of 6 August 2004, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament, and the law transposing this regulation into French law.

Controller

The Seller, the company ROYER RETAIL (Rennes TCR 439 723 859), is the Controller relative to the personal data). All contact details of the ROYER RETAIL company are provided in the legal information page.

Legal basis of the processing of the Customer’s personal data

The Seller processes the personal data on the following bases:

  • the Customer’s consent
  • the need to fulfil a contract in which the Customer is a party
  • the legitimate interests of the Seller (art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR)
  • a legislative or regulatory text

What personal data are collected on the Site?

The Site collects and processes certain elements of personal data, notably including:

  • personal information (for example: surname, first name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth)
  • information on operations (for example: products purchased, price, payment method, payment data)
  • information on the Customer’s visit to the Site (for example: IP address, dates and times of connection on the Site, type of device used and its settings, location data)
  • information on the customer profile (for example: username, password or other identification elements, preferences, consulted products, incidents)
  • all other personal data that the Customer agrees to provide via the Site

The Site does not collect personal data from minors under the age of 15 years, except if the person with parental authority over the minor has authorised the Seller to do so.

How are personal data collected on the Site?

Information provided at the Seller’s request

An asterisk is used to inform the Customer if the data collection is mandatory or optional. The Customer can choose not to provide the Seller with certain information, with the understanding that this decision can nevertheless deprive the Customer of certain proposed services and functionalities.

Automatically collected information

Certain data may be collected automatically on the basis of the Customer’s actions on the site.

Cookies

Subject to the parameters of the Customer’s browser, the Site may install Cookies in order to gather traffic statistics, to monitor and improve the quality of our services, to adapt the site’s presentation to the Customer’s device, to record any information that has been input, and to manage and secure the access to personal spaces.

If the Customer consents to Cookies being placed within his/her browser, the Cookies embedded in the consulted pages may be temporarily stored in a dedicated space of the browser, and will be legible only by the Seller.

The use of Cookies requires the Customer’s consent, and the Customer can use the options of the Internet browser in order to manage Cookies.


The Customer’s attention is nevertheless drawn to the fact that the settings of the IT terminal can alter the conditions for accessing certain services and certain Site functionalities.

Social networks

The Site contains third-party IT applications (“plug-ins” or social modules), that allow the web surfer to share the content of our site with other people on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest…).

If the Customer so wishes, s/he can decide to link the pages consulted on the Site with his/her social network account, while first identifying him/herself on the social network and the clicking on the corresponding icon. If the Customer does not wish to link the information collected the Site with his/her account, s/he will have to log off from the social network before visiting the Site, or not click on the corresponding icon.

These “plug-ins” or social modules are subject to the confidentiality and privacy protection policies of the said social networks; the Customer is therefore invited to consult these policies in order to review the usage purposes, notably for advertising purposes, of the browsing information that may be collected through the use of these buttons.

Purposes of the personal data processing by the Site:

The Customer’s personal data are used primarily for the following purposes:

  • opening of a Customer account
  • management of the Customer’s request and/or order,
  • marketing and customer relation management as well as the use of targeted advertising or newsletters
  • Site customization
  • monitoring of the performance of the products and services proposed by the Site
  • improvement of the products and services

The Customer’s rights regarding his/her personal data

At any time, the Customer can withdraw his/her consent regarding the processing of his/her personal data, while bearing in mind that this retraction does not affect the legality of the prior processing carried out on the basis of his/her consent.

In compliance with the personal data protection regulations, the Customer also has the following rights:

  • access to his/her personal data
  • correction of his/her personal data when they are incorrect or incomplete
  • deletion of his/her personal data
  • opposition, for reasons related to his/her personal situation, relative to the Site’s processing of his/her personal data on the basis of legitimate interests
  • limitation of the processing of his/her personal data
  • portability of his/her personal data, if relevant

Before providing information or correcting possible errors, the Seller may be required to ask the Customer to confirm his/her identity and/or to provide additional information that will enable the Seller to satisfy the Customer’s request.

The Customer also has the right to file a complaint with the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (French Data Protection Authority), notably via its Internet site www.cnil.fr.

Personal Data retention duration

The Seller undertakes to retain the collected personal data for a period of time that does not exceed the time needed for the purposes for which they were processed. As such, the personal data will be retained for the time needed for the management of orders and their sequels, and for commercial prospecting operations.

These data can be retained unless the Customer opposes the processing of his/her data. 

These retention durations are defined on the basis of the Seller’s processing purposes, and they notably account for the applicable legal provisions that impose a retention duration determined for certain data categories, as well as possibly applicable limitation periods.

Certain data are then archived for an additional period of time for limited reasons as authorised by law (payment, warranty, disputes ...), and for time limits that are imposed by the laws in effect. After the said time limit, the data are deleted.

Transmission of personal data

The personal data collected on the Site can be provided to the Seller’s service providers and processors, but only for the purposes described herein (e.g.: processing, payment, delivery of orders, as well as for marketing operations).

It is possible that the Customer’s data may transit or be hosted on servers belonging to our partners or processors located outside of the European Union. However, the Site undertakes to ensure that an appropriate level of confidentiality and security is maintained. In case of transfer of the Customer’s personal data outside of the European Union, the Site will take the necessary measures to ensure an appropriate level of protection for the Customer’s personal data, by requiring its processors and partners to implement technical and organisational measures that will ensure observance of the regulations relative to personal data protection.s.

Information regarding e-mails and Newsletters:

The Customer can choose to receive offers from our Site by e-mail, in order to remain informed of the Site’s current events and of any benefits available to him/her.

If the Customer no longer wishes to receive offers and information from the Site, s/he can oppose these mailings by indicating this at the time of creating his/her account, or by changing the settings in his/her customer area.
